in the meantime we're delighted to be joined by some of the Marco Rubio %HESITATION he is one of the gang of eight and

the lead sponsor of the immigration bill that's pending a in the United States Senate that'll hopefully get through there and then go on to the house a

senator it's a pleasure to have you here and this is been a busy week for you I think well first of all governor thanks for having me on and %HESITATION say

has been a busy weekend and got a means of Senate actually working the first two years I was here we just sat around all day and when

the when a lot of activity in fourteen the Democrats are basically frozen the process so we'll have a vote today on the I'm

which doesn't infringe on second amendment rights but deals with violence in America obviously we've all been following this horrible tragedy in Boston and a

reminder how vigilant we need to remain and we'll see what the news is later today on that and %HESITATION and of course this issue on immigration and

we've reached a starting point and obviously a lot of work remains to be done in many many weeks of debate amendments

and so forth but I thought it was an important step and I look forward to engaging people on it and think how we can improve on you

the substance of the bill says there's not going to be an amnesty provision that something you were very adamant about are

something that would be very important to a lot of people but there is at least a process through which people can come out

of hiding and participate in the the American workforce how does it work so that it is an amnesty well

first of all disappoint understand what the law is today the law today said that if you are legally in the United States it doesn't prevent you from getting becoming

then another three to five years before you become a citizen so there is an existing pathway to citizenship right now for people that are illegally in the country the

problem is that millions of people that are in this country illegally have been here for more than a decade and they've got children that are US citizens and they're not going to leave and

so the choice before us is we're not going to round them up and deport him we're just not that kind of society I we can't ignore the problem so

in return for all that the only thing they're going to get is a temporary worker permit that allows them to work in the United States and

that you have to renew that it after six years it's not forever beyond that you won't qualify for any federal benefits and that's important understand you can't go on welfare you can't get food stamps you

can't even get obamacare all the only thing you qualify forced to work and pay your taxes and you only get that for six years and then up at six your point you have to reapply pay another fine pay another application fee and

you have to prove you've been paying taxes the last six years and that you're employed yet to prove that you're not a burden on society and

and then you still have to stay in that for another four years permit that allows them to work in the United States and

can't even get obamacare all the only thing you qualify forced to work and pay your taxes and you only get that for six years and then up at six your point you have to reapply pay another fine pay another application fee and

you have to prove you've been paying taxes the last six years and that you're employed yet to prove that you're not a burden on society and

then assuming at that ten years have gone by that you've been in that status and assuming that the borders been secure but
