Republican senator Ted Cruz he joins us now from Munich senator Chris thank you so much for joining us on

the Ukraine military where do you stand on that well George good morning it's great to be with you and you know I'll tell you this conference in Munich the last three days I've

had has really highlighted the enormous national security threats that are facing America that it that that that are growing and getting worse if

the Obama administration is not honoring that obligation we need to come together and provide defensive arm so that they can stand up against this Russian aggression I

need ground forces as well would you call of American forces if others don't step up you

know I I don't believe right now we need American boots on the ground and the reason is we had boots on the ground are ready with the Kurds the

peshmerga are trained effective fighters they are close allies of us just today I met with the president of Kurdistan and

and he made clear the peshmerga are ready to fight they are fighting isis but

I'll tell you George it makes no sense our government is not providing military weapons effectively to the Kurds instead they're shuttling in all of Baghdad and

Baghdad is is very slow in getting it to the Kurds we need to arm the Kurds and we need to use the peshmerga as

boots on the ground they're effective they're ready there are close allies said if that's not enough would you be willing to send American ground troops into that battle I

look we need to accomplish the mission in the mission should be defeating isis before

they succeed in carrying out more horrific acts of terror before they succeed and murdering Americans if need be we

need a focused direct military objective of taking out and destroying isis ice
